breast Augmentation overview
Breast augmentation is a very personal decision. Choosing the right size implant is something we pride ourselves on. Some women may desire a more dramatic result while others may simply desire a slight enhancement or a return to pre-pregnancy size. Regardless of your reasoning, the board-certified plastic surgeons at Austin-Weston, The Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Reston, VA can help you choose the cosmetic breast augmentation procedure that best fits your lifestyle and goals. We do hundreds of breast implant operations each year. During your initial consult, our plastic surgeons can also discuss the differences between silicone and saline implants and help you determine which is best for you. An autologous approach for breast enhancement, known as a fat transfer to the breasts, is also an option and can be discussed during your consultation.
During a fat transfer to the breast, fat is taken from one area of the body, such as the abdomen or thighs, using liposuction and is then purified and injected into the breasts for augmentation and shape enhancement. This technique is becoming very popular because it is a holistic approach to breast augmentation. Since it uses the patient’s own fat, there is no concern for rejection.
We offer a variety of breast augmentation methods and techniques to suit the needs of our diverse clientele. Call our Reston, VA cosmetic surgery practice to learn more.

Breast Augmentation Reviews
"Dr. Weston is the best! Facility is top notch (pricey but well worth it) team takes good care of you from consult to post op"- K.S. / Yelp / Mar 10, 2015
"Dr. Weston, and his team at the Austin-Weston Center for Cosmetic Surgery were outstanding. My breasts look great; they are natural-looking, full, and exactly what I hoped for. My recovery was much easier than I anticipated. I had a great experience with Dr. Weston, and strongly believe one of the reasons my experience was so positive is that he is an excellent doctor. I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a breast augmentation. Dr. Weston always gave me his full-attention. He was never distracted, never seem rushed; that focus did a great deal to ease my anxiety. This was a seamless experience. The day after surgery (for my post-op appointment), Dr. Weston recognized that I had been lightly scratching (I had some faint red marks on my chest). I had brushed it off, saying that it must be the bleach or detergent from the sheets the night before (I stayed in a hotel the day of surgery to be close to the office). He insisted I describe everything, and examined my body, suspecting that is was an undiagnosed, unreported allergy. He switched my pain medication, and I had no more issues during my recovery. I've been to a lot of doctors and specialists, and never had a doctor so focused on my health care, and so attentive to seemingly minor things. Dr. Weston was one of the best doctor's experiences I've had."- D.L. / Yelp / Mar 22, 2014
"I love the entire place! It's so friendly, humble and professional! They are very quick to serve you, answer any questions, and resolve any issues there may be. My surgeon was Dr.Poindexter and I fell in love with him instantly! He's so kind, sweet, gentle and always has such a big smile on his face! I got breast augmentation and he did an absolute fabulous job! The entire surgical staff was nice, the anesthesiologist was also sweet and careful with me when it came to putting needles and tubes in me lol! The overall experience was the best! I will be back to get more surgery and enhancement done to my body, best believe it! And the most wonderful thing about this place was not the awards they got or top votes, or any thing like that. The fact that I am a transgender patient and they were so loving and welcoming with open arms! They love you no matter what race, ethnicity, gender you identity yourself or orientation! I love them so much! I highly highly recommend this place!!"- J.S. / Yelp / Jun 25, 2015
"Got my boobs done here. Yes, they look amazing. But, more importantly (well, maybe not...), the whole experience was great. From the consultation through pre-op, the surgery and finally post-op care, everyone on staff did a great job. Every question I had was answered regardless of whether it was asked of Dr Sigal himself, the anesthesiologist, my personal coordinator (I absolutely adore Wilma!) or the office girls. It really is no wonder that Dr Sigal was on Washingtonian's Top 100 Doctors list. Also, they offer a "pain pump" that feeds a numbing agent into the affected area for a few days after surgery. It definitely decreases the discomfort level and isn't offered at all places. I highly, highly recommend the Austin-Weston Center and Dr Sigal for all of your cosmetic surgery needs."- S.C. / Yelp / Oct 10, 2011
"I cannot gush enough about how amazing my experience was with this place!I got a breast augmentation and was really afraid. The moment I got walked in there, I felt comfortable and safe. The front office and all the workers were so nice and very informative. You could tell they wanted you to make the right decision and wanted to do whatever they could to make it them. Dr. Weston was absolutely fantastic. He is knowledgeable and honest. All the nurses were helpful and made my experience that much more relaxing. My results were better than I imagined. I now have natural looking boobs and went from a AA to a 32DD with just 304cc implants. (5'4, 110 lbs). The best part was after the surgery, I barely even realized that I went through surgery THAT is how amazing my recovery was! I HIGHLY recommend Dr Weston and just anyone that wants to visit this place. If there is a way to contact me on here, by all means do cause I have nothing but amazing things to say about this center and everyone that works here.Thank you all for everything! Could not be happier.- T"- M.A. / Yelp / Apr 24, 2012
What to Expect with Breast Augmentation
Before you have breast augmentation surgery, there are several things your plastic surgeon will want to discuss with you to make sure you get the result you want. During your consultation, your surgeon will discuss the different types of silicone and saline breast implants, incision types, discuss the 'look' you desire, and examine your existing native breast tissue, breast shape, skin elasticity, and pectoralis muscle. Measurements will be taken of the breasts and the chest wall, including base width, to help determine the best implant type.
Once your surgeon has recommended a size range, you will get the chance to try on the implants in a bra and then look in the mirror to see which size you like best. For many patients considering breast augmentation, VECTRA imaging can be done to digitally show you what breast implants will look like on your frame. VECTRA is a special camera that takes a picture of your breasts and creates a 3-D rendition of your body so different size breast implants can be placed virtually and you can see how the different sizes will look on your frame.
This evaluation will help our team develop an ideal breast augmentation plan for your individual desires. We carry every brand, style, and shape of breast implants at Austin-Weston and can recommend one that best fits your goals. Brands we carry include Allergan breast implants, Mentor breast implants, and Sientra breast implants.
Breast Augmentation Anticipated Results
After surgery, patients can expect to feel sore so they will be given post-surgical care instructions and pain medication to be comfortable. Most patients take off work for up to a week, and bruising and swelling resolves around 1 – 2 weeks. It is recommended for patients to take it easy for the first week to heal and rebuild strength after surgery. The implants typically drop and take shape in the first several weeks, though there is some variability based on the tightness of skin envelope, pectoralis muscle bulk and implant size chosen. Patients can resume full pectoralis exercises by 6 weeks and final photographs are taken at 3 months. Optimal results will reveal a beautiful, natural contour.
Another component to consider is the breast implant warranty. Warranties add value to your breast augmentation package by protecting you from additional costs down the road. Most breast implant companies warranty against implant rupture for up to 10 years.
At Austin-Weston, we go above and beyond the breast implant companies and provide a warranty regarding our results. All primary breast augmentation surgeries performed at Austin-Weston come with a three-year warranty, free of charge, that covers implant malposition (an implant too high or too low) and capsular contracture (excess scar tissue around the implant). If your surgeon thinks he can improve your primary breast augmentation result, your touch-up procedure at Austin-Weston will be covered free of charge. For patients only wanting to change the size of the implants, they are only charged the cost of the new implants. Any additional questions, just ask!
